Privacy Policy

In short: Spex doesn't collect any data about you. Your hearing results and settings stay on your devices and in your own iCloud account, where we can't see them. There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
Your hearing results and profiles
Your hearing test results, headphone profiles and settings are stored on your device. If iCloud is turned on for Spex, they're also kept in your private iCloud account so they appear on your other devices. Apple stores that data for you; we have no access to it.
Your music
When you let Spex use your music library, it reads your songs on your device to play them. Your library, your listening and the songs themselves never leave your device and are never sent to us.
Syncing songs from your Mac
Songs synced from Spex on your Mac to your iPhone go directly between your devices over your local network, encrypted. They aren't sent through the internet or to us. Your devices pair through your iCloud Keychain, or with a code your Mac shows you. To find your Mac, Spex on your iPhone asks for permission to use your local network.
Purchases
Purchases and the free trial are handled by Apple through the App Store. Apple tells Spex only whether you've unlocked it; we never see your name or payment details.
What we collect
Nothing. Spex has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party tracking code. If you choose to share crash reports or usage data with app developers in your device's settings, Apple may share anonymous reports with us.
If you write to us
If you email us for support, we use your email address and what you send only to reply to you.
Children
Spex doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
